New Resources Help to Make Charging Fees a Breeze

November 8, 2017 - Kara Philip, Early Resolution Officer

The IPC has developed two new resources to assist public bodies when charging fees related to access requests. The first resource, Steps to Charging Fees is a one page document that outlines the steps public bodies should take for reasonable cost recovery associated with providing access to records. The second resource, Fee Estimate: Quick Calculation Guide will help public bodies determine the appropriate amount to charge for time required to locate and identify responsive records (search fee), time spent preparing the record for disclosure (preparation fee), and the reproduction of records (reproduction fee).

Have a look at these new guides and let us know if they assist.
