Got HIPA Pain? We Can Help!

January 26, 2018 - Melanie Coyle, Analyst

As you may know, part of our office’s function is to answer questions about The Health Information Protection Act (HIPA).  We get questions from trustees on a weekly basis about HIPA, personal health information, access to information and privacy best practices.

Our office is planning to start a webinar series to reply to these questions so that many trustees can benefit from the questions and answers.  We envision a series of short 10 to15 minute webinars that we would post to our website periodically as we collect questions.

We also would like to tailor these webinars primarily to the offices or clinics of physicians, dentists, chiropractors, therapists, etc.  After all, the new Saskatchewan Health Authority has a top-notch access and privacy team (that is intimately aware of our office’s views).

If you have any questions to contribute to our webinars, please e-mail them to intake@oipc.sk.ca with the subject line “HIPA Q & A”.  We will treat them anonymously during our webinars.

If you have questions that require a more immediate answer, as always, you can call us at 306-787-8350.

We would appreciate any help in spreading the word about this initiative.

And check back often for the premier of our webinar series.
